Stripe, Inc. Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington

TITLE:                          Software Engineer

EMPLOYER:                 Stripe, Inc.

 

DUTIES:                       Design, build and maintain APIs, services and systems across Stripes engineering teams using Ruby, Scala and Java, Spark, Airflow and Flink; Build software infrastructure, including developing, testing, and deploying it; Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; Engineer payments integration with various financial partners software systems; Build systems to maintain Stripe's compliance with money transmission licenses in the US, UK, and EU; Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation; Debug productions issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large scale; Work with lawyers and compliance specialists at the company to translate regulatory requirements into working and reliance implementations; Build new systems to securely store sensitive data; improve engineering standards, tooling and processes.

 

LOCATION:                  Seattle, WA (and various unanticipated work locations across the U.S.)

REQUIREMENTS:         Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related and 4 years of software engineering experience.

Position also requires the following:

4 years of experience in building software solutions in Ruby, Scala, Java.

4 years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable systems.

4 years of experience in translating business needs into software requirements and designs.

2 years of experience in using SQL and related query languages to perform data analysis.

2 years of experience in working with financial payments infrastructure, e.g. banking partners, payment networks, etc.

1 year of experience with data engineering using Spark, Airflow and Flink at large scale.

1 year of experience in building solutions in support of regulatory compliance of money transmission licenses in the US, UK and EU.

SALARY:                      $193,781-$203,781/year and standard employee benefits.
